Questions people actually ask

Does Hala Player include channels or films?

No, and it never will. Hala Player is a media player. It ships with no channel list, no playlist, no provider account and no way to discover one. You add a playlist you already have, from a provider you already chose, and the app plays it. The licence pays for the application only.

Then what am I paying for?

The application itself — the interface, the player, the search, the updates and the support. It is the same arrangement as buying any piece of software: the tool is ours, the content is yours.

How long is the trial, and what does it cost?

Seven days, free, with nothing held back. We do not ask for a card, an email address or an account to start it.

Does one licence cover more than one television?

No. A licence is bound to the television it is activated on, because that is what the device ID identifies. A second television needs its own licence.

I replaced my television. Can I move the licence?

Write to us with the old device ID and the new one and we will move it. A replaced or repaired set is not a second customer, and we treat it that way.

Where do I find the device ID and device key?

Open Hala Player on the television. They are on the licence screen when the app starts, and afterwards under Settings → Web portal. The ID starts with lg:, and: or tz:; the key is eight characters beside it.

Which playlist formats work?

M3U or M3U-plus links and Xtream Codes portals work. Add them on the television or through the web portal using your device ID and device key.

What happens when a yearly licence ends?

The application stops playing and asks you to renew. Nothing you added is deleted — your playlists, favourites and positions are still there when you come back.

What if your server is unreachable?

A previously verified licence has an offline grace period of up to 72 hours. This covers a licence-server outage; streaming still requires an internet connection to your provider.

Can I get a refund?

Activated licences are non-refundable except where required by law. Please test your provider during the seven-day free trial before paying.
