Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Read this first. Hala Player is a media player and nothing more. It does not host, provide, sell, bundle, index, recommend, or give access to any television channel, film, or series. It ships completely empty. Any content you see in it comes from a playlist or portal that you supplied, obtained from a provider you chose and have no relationship with us over. You are solely responsible for having the legal right to access whatever you add.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Hala Player ("we", "us") governing your use of the Hala Player application ("the app"). By installing the app, accepting the disclaimer shown on first launch, or continuing to use the app, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app and uninstall it.
2. What the app is
The app is a general-purpose media player for televisions. Its function is to read a playlist or portal address that the user enters, and to play the media streams that the address returns, in the same way a web browser renders whatever page you point it at.
The app is distributed with no content of any kind. It contains no channel list, no pre-loaded playlist, no provider account, no directory of providers, and no mechanism for discovering, searching for, or purchasing content sources. We do not operate, own, sponsor, endorse, or have any commercial relationship with any content provider.
3. Your sources are your responsibility
This is the central condition of using the app.
- You choose which provider to use. We do not supply, suggest, or vet providers.
- You warrant that you hold a valid subscription, licence, or other legal right to access every source you add and every stream you play.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring your use complies with the copyright, broadcasting, and media laws of your country.
- You accept full legal responsibility for any content you access through the app.
We have no technical means of knowing what a given playlist contains and no ability to inspect, filter, or block it. If you are not certain that a source is lawful in your jurisdiction, do not add it.
4. Prohibited use
You may not use the app to:
- Access, distribute, or publicly perform any content you are not licensed to access.
- Circumvent any technological protection measure, geographic restriction, or access control.
- Redistribute, rebroadcast, or resell any stream played through the app.
- Break any law applicable to you.
We may, without notice, disable access for any user we reasonably believe is using the app for any of the above.
5. Content complaints and rights holders
If you are a rights holder and believe the app is being used to infringe your rights, please understand that we neither host nor transmit any content and have no ability to remove a stream. The party you need is the provider operating the server, whose address appears in the stream URL.
We will nonetheless cooperate with legitimate rights holders. Write to legal@halaplayer.com with the details and we will respond promptly.
6. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In particular, we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will work with every provider, portal format, codec, or television model, that any specific stream will play, or that playback will be of any particular quality. Playback depends on your provider, your internet connection, and the decoding hardware in your television — none of which are under our control.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or legal costs, arising out of or relating to your use of the app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it, or, where the app was obtained free of charge, to zero.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted.
8. Third-party services
The app queries The Movie Database (TMDB) to display cast photographs and details. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Your use of that data is additionally subject to TMDB's own terms.
The app is distributed through the LG Content Store and Google Play, whose own terms govern the distribution itself. We are not affiliated with, and the app is not endorsed by, LG Electronics or Google.
9. Intellectual property in the app
The app, its source code, its interface design, its name, and its logo are our property and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on televisions you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, modify, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, rent, sell, or create derivative works from the app, except where such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
10. Updates and availability
We may release updates that change, add, or remove features. We may also discontinue the app, or withdraw it from any store, at any time. Where an update materially reduces functionality you rely on, we will say so in the release notes.
Installed copies are not updated remotely by us; updates reach you through the store you installed from.
11. Paid features
The app may offer paid features in future. Where it does, the price, what the payment covers, the duration of any trial, and the refund policy will be stated clearly at the point of purchase before you pay, and this document will be updated before any such feature is released.
12. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. We may terminate or suspend your licence if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 3, 6, 7, and 9 survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. The version number and date at the top of this page will change, and material revisions will be surfaced in the app so you can review them. Continuing to use the app after a revision means you accept it.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that consumers retain any right they have to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
15. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.
